Calgary’s Aryan Guard disbands after failed bombing attempt

CALGARY- Calgary’s Aryan Guard has disbanded after reaching a "boiling point" with a failed bombing against one of its own, according to the neo-nazi group’s website.

The unsigned, unverified statement was posted today to the group’s website and also on a white supremicist forum on stormfront.org, claiming the local band has been on the decline in the six months, finally bottoming out with Saturday’s failed bomb attack said to be a vendetta against an associate.

Police destroyed two unexploded homemade bombs left near the Rundlehorn Drive apartment of a Calgary white supremacist.

No one was injured.

Police have charged a 17-year-old boy with attempted murder, but are still searching for suspect Kyle Robert McKee, 24, the founder of the Calgary Aryan Guard.

McKee’s teenage sidekick, who cannot be identified, was arrested coming off a bus in Portage la Prairie, Man.

The webposting blamed the group’s decline on a dwindling membership, "leaving only one founding member, one associate and a few new faces striving for membership in something that they could be proud of," the anonymous posting reads.

"It’s sad to see how a group founded on the hard work and good intentions of so many can be spoiled by the rash actions of so few…. With this, The Aryan Guard is officially disbanded."

The neo-nazi group first surfaced on Calgary streets in 2006. The group held downtown demonstrations and posted leaflets about their activities, sparking the ire of anti-hate groups and citizens.
