The stretch of road — in both directions between Calgary Trail and Gateway Boulevard — was re-opened at about 4:30 p.m.

At approximately 1:20 a.m., officers responded to a disturbance in the area of Whyte Avenue and 103 Street, EPS said.

When they arrived on scene, police found three injured males. Police did not provide their ages.

EMS responded, treated and transported two of the males to hospital: one with serious injuries and one with minor injuries. The third male died at the scene, police said.

Police say people should avoid the area and seek alternate routes until further notice.
