Ottawa police identify 25-year-old victim of fatal Nepean stabbing

The Ottawa Police Service has identified the deceased in a fatal stabbing early Thursday morning as 25-year-old Christopher Avery Houghton.

Police said that the incident occurred at a home in the 1-100 block of Sherry Lane around 1:30 a.m. on Thursday. The area is northwest of the Nepean Sportsplex, near the intersection of Woodroffe Avenue and Hunt Club Road.

Next of kin have been contacted, police said.

No further details have been released.

Anyone with information is being asked to call the homicide unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5493.

The death marks Ottawa’s 11th homicide of the year.
