RCMP say an Alert Ready message for the regions of Tobique Narrows, Plaster Rock and Perth Andover is no longer active, as police continue to search for 25-year-old Stephen Perley, Jr.
The end of the alert was issued just before 10 p.m. Saturday.
Earlierin the day, RCMP in western New Brunswick said people in the Tobique-Perth area can leave their homes but should stay careful.
Police said the suspect’s vehicle was located between Plaster Rock and Perth-Andover at 10 a.m. Saturday.
“He is considered armed and dangerous, if sighted, do not approach and contact police immediately,” the RCMP said in a release.

Perley was last seen driving a red four-door Toyota Tacoma on a road in a wooded area.
Police have also provided a description: Perley is described as being five feet ten inches (180 centimetres) tall, and has a small build. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
The RCMP has warned people earlier in the Tobique-Perth area through an Alert Ready message to lock their doors and stay inside after a man fired at police.
RCMP said Mounties responded to a report Friday night of a man pointing and firing a gun in Medford.
Police said the suspect fled the area in a vehicle and when officers tried to stop him the suspect fired at them, hitting an RCMP vehicle.
No one was hurt.
The search area in western New Brunswick is close to the U.S. border.
A spokeswoman with the nearby Maine State Police said in an email she reached out to the lieutenant in charge of Arroostock County, Maine, which shares a border with Victoria County, N.B., where the suspect’s vehicle was located. That lieutenant was unaware of the manhunt next door, she said.
