TORONTO — Pop star Cody Simpson is expected to draw hundreds of young fans to Toronto’s Yonge-Dundas Square on Aug. 29 with a free concert.

The 16-year-old Australian singer is scheduled to hit the stage at 7:00 p.m. to perform tracks from his new album, Surfer’s Paradise.

Simpson’s latest release includes the single “Pretty Brown Eyes.”

The young star has made repeated visits to the city, including in-store autograph sessions at an HMV store in July and at a Chapters store last December.

“When you make music, you work hard on it and it definitely hurts to have people just rip it,” Simpson admitted. “It’s the art that you’ve worked on for days and months at a time.”
