TORONTO — Rebecca Romijn could be an honourary Canadian.
The 40-year-old actress has spent a big chunk of her post-modelling career in front of cameras in Canada.
Romijn recently completed work in Vancouver on the new series King & Maxwell, which premieres Aug. 27 on Showcase.
She made her big screen debut in the 1998 made-in-Toronto comedy Dirty Work and followed it by playing Mystique in 2000’s Toronto-shot X-Men and the 2003 and 2006 made-in-Vancouver sequels.
Romijn also spent time in Southern Ontario to make 2004’s Godsend and 2010’s The Con Artist.
On Monday, she was back in the city to promote King & Maxwell on Global’s The Morning Show with her co-star Jon Tenney.
“I really think this is the golden age of television,” she said. “Television has never been better. There are so many great stories being told.”
On King & Maxwell, Romijn and Tenney are disgraced Secret Service agents working as private investigators.
Romijn worked long days in Vancouver while her husband, actor Jerry O’Connell, took care of their four-year-old twin daughters back home in Los Angeles.
What will she will tell Dolly and Charlie if they express interest in following in her footsteps?
” You have to be a student until you’re 18.”
