Duty. Insp. Michael Williams said officers were called to the area of Willowridge Road and Eglinton Avenue, just east of Highway 427, at 2:21 p.m.

“When officers arrived on scene, they found four male victims all in their late 20s and early 30s suffering from gunshot wounds,” Williams told reporters at the scene.

“There have been four victims transported by emergency run to hospital and what I can confirm for you at this time is that one male, 28 years old, has been pronounced deceased in hospital.”

In a news release issued Monday, officers identified the man who died as Mississauga resident Odale Leslie.

The other three victims were all suffering from gunshot wounds; one was reported to be in life-threatening condition, while the other two were in serious but non-life-threatening condition.

Police had initially said a total of five people were shot.

“What I can tell you at this point is there were two vehicles — the Toyota Camry that’s parked down the street riddled with bullet holes behind me and another Mercedes that [was] parked in front of 22 Willowridge,” he said.

“The occupants of those vehicles were the targets of the gunfire.”

Williams said a dark sedan entered the roundabout at 22 and 44 Willowridge Road and approached the two vehicles before one or more suspects opened fire.

Williams said it’s not clear how many shooters there may have been. He said that it “doesn’t appear” to have been a random act but added that officers can’t jump to conclusions. He said investigators will also be looking at whether there was an exchange of gunfire.

“There were dozens of shots that were fired, one officer estimated that maybe close to 100 shots,” Williams said.

In Monday’s update, officers described a suspect vehicle as a black, four-door sedan that was possibly a 2014-2018 Audi A6.
