“There was heavy smoke on the eighth floor and we deployed our high-rise hose lines to safely contain the fire to the one unit.”

Officials say the cause of the fire was careless cooking. Damage is estimated at $50,000.

Mosburger said all residents were able to return to their units, except for the one where the fire originated.

“I believe it was about an hour or so after we got on scene, so it was a rather quick return back to their units after we made sure the environment was good enough.”
