There were 112 collisions reported to Edmonton police on Friday, including a crash between a police van and an SUV that sent a civilian to hospital.
According to the Edmonton Police Service, the collision occurred at around 12:40 p.m. at the intersection of 115 Avenue and 82 Street.
While police didn’t say how serious the collision was, they did say the driver was taken to hospital as a precaution.
A police officer suffered a minor injury, a news release said.
The collision closed the intersection for a few hours while police investigated. It reopened around 4:30 p.m.
Of the 112 collisions reported between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., 16 were hit-and-runs, nine involved injuries and the remaining 87 resulted in damage.
