Ottawa police believe a downtown shooting that sent one person to hospital on Thursday afternoon was targeted, and they’re hoping to hear from anyone who might have witnessed or have video of the incident.
A police spokesperson said the shooting took place in the 400 block of Dalhousie Street, near the intersection with Rideau Street, at 3:09 p.m.
One person suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, a spokesperson with the Ottawa Paramedic Service said.
The victim was taken to hospital in stable condition, the spokesperson said.
No suspect is yet in custody, police said Friday morning.
Road closures related to the incident were cleared by 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The area in question is close to the Rideau Centre and the ByWard Market, and is just a few blocks east of Parliament Hill.
