A man has died following a fire in an apartment in the Montreal North borough late Monday night.
Montreal police say the 67-year-old man was found unconscious and taken to hospital in critical condition but that he died from his injuries Tuesday morning.
The fire broke out around 9:20 p.m. in a second-floor apartment above a commercial unit on Perras Street between Georges-Pichet and Lamoureux avenues.
No other injuries were reported.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire but police believe it was likely accidental.
