Roads were backed up and parking lots were overflowing as shoppers flooded to the new Toronto Premium Outlets location in Halton Hills Thursday.
The amount of customers coming to see the new outlet was so great that the paved parking lots were filled to capacity, forcing shoppers to park across the street in unpaved “overflow” lots.

Traffic was also moving slowly on Highway 401 and nearby roads. At one point, the OPP had to intervene to direct the flow of traffic.
The retail destination will house some of North America’s big name designers and leading brands with savings of 25 to 65 per cent off.
Among the names include a Hudson’s Bay Outlet, Banana Republic, J. Crew, Michael Kors and Ted Baker London.
The outlet complex is located at 13850 Steeles Avenue West which is accessible off Highway 401 at the Trafalgar Road interchange in Halton Hills.
