The search for a small missing dog along the Coquihalla Highway is now over, according to a family member.
On the Coquihalla Roads Report Facebook page, Aaron Proudfoot announced that the search for Lippy has come to an end.
Earlier this week, Proudfoot said says some of his family members were involved in a westbound rollover between Hope and Merritt, and that little Lippy went missing after the accident.
The rollover happened around 61 kilometres north of Hope, near Exit 238, with Proudfoot issuing a plea for motorists to keep their eyes peeled for the beloved dog.
In updating the Facebook page, Proudfoot said “we have confirmation from (the) area manager for the Ministry of Transportation that Lippy will be resting easy now.”
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation confirmed to Global News that the dog’s body was found.

Prior to updating the post, Proudfoot thanked the towing company and “to the numerous people who collected their personal belongings scattered through the ditch, and for digging through the snow looking for the puppy.”
He also thanked a man who went back to the scene to search for Lippy.
