STONEWALL, Man. – A memorial is being held Thursday in Stonewall, Man., to remember a mother and her two children who died last week.

This afternoon’s service is for Lisa Gibson, who was 32, her two-year-old daughter Anna and infant son Nicholas.

Gibson’s body was found last week in the Red River in Winnipeg, three days after her children were discovered alone and unresponsive in a bathtub in the family’s home.

A family member has said Gibson sought treatment for postpartum depression and there are calls for an inquest to examine what kind of health care she may have received.

Gibson’s obituary says she loved her job as a pharmacist and enjoyed the theatre, running and playing soccer.

Anna was “a joy to be around” and loved to learn new things, especially helping in the kitchen, her obituary says.

The obituary for her two-month-old son says baby Nicholas was just starting to smile and laugh.

The memorial is at the MacKenzie Funeral Home at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Manitoba Mood Disorder Society.
