Actress and comedian Janeane Garofalo has been a much-lauded and notable performer since she burst onto the scene in 1992. In addition to acting in film and television, Garofalo is a well-known stand-up comedian respected around the country and internationally.
Garofalo most recently received rave reviews for her role as the voice of Colette in the animated hit feature Ratatouille. She has had many memorable and critically acclaimed roles in films such as The Truth About Cats and Dogs, Steal This Movie, Copland, Reality Bites, and Duane Hopwood. She is also recognized for the specific brand of sharp wit and comedy shown in her roles in Wet Hot American Summer, Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion, Bye Bye Love, Mystery Men, Clay Pigeons, The Minus Man, and The Cable Guy, directed by her friend Ben Stiller.
Garofalo played the role of Paula, the acerbic talent booker on The Larry Sanders Show, for which she received an Emmy nomination in 1997 and two CableACE nominations. In fall 1994, she joined the cast of Saturday Night Live. Recently, she received critical acclaim for her role as campaign manager Louise Thornton on The West Wing. Additional television work includes Strangers with Candy, and Felicity.
Garofalo lives in New York and Los Angeles.
