Snowfall warning continues in Barrie region

Environment Canada says “significant” snowfall will continue Tuesday and into Wednesday in the Barrie, Collingwood and Hillsdale area.

Ten to 15 more centimetres of snow are possible Tuesday into Wednesday morning, with an additional 20 to 30 centimetres possible for higher terrain, according to the federal weather agency.

Strong winds gusting north that are near 70 kilometres per hour are possible Tuesday, particularly near Georgian Bay.

The snowfall is a result of a strengthening low-pressure system expected to move through eastern Ontario into Quebec Tuesday into Wednesday.
