Global Toronto’s Liem Vu and Kris Reyes recently participated as guest judges at Thrill of the Grill: a community event organized by the Danforth BIA to raise funds for kidney cancer research at the Odette Cancer Centre and Sunnybrook Health Science Centre. In addition to Liem and Kris, the celebrity judge panel included Food Network Canada’s Lynn Crawford and Dr. Georg Bjarnason of the Odette Cancer Centre.
Danforth Avenue was closed to traffic as five of the Danforth area’s top chefs competed for the Best Ribs title. Rib lovers had a little taste of the chefs’ specialties from each participating restaurant including: Allen’s, The Combine Eatery, Factory Girl, Globe Bistro, and The Meat Department. Grillers competed for public votes in the people’s choice category, while also trying to win the celebrity judges’ favourite. Global Toronto is a proud sponsor of Thrill of the Grill.
