Kitchener man faces murder charge after stabbing victim dies in Cambridge

Waterloo Regional Police say a person is in custody after a man was found dead at a Cambridge home late Wednesday night.

A spokesperson for the service told Global News emergency crews were called to the home on Linden Drive, in the Preston area of Cambridge, at around 10 p.m. for the report of a weapons incident.

A 26-year-old man from Cambridge who was suffering from stab wounds was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police say a 28-year-old Kitchener man was arrested and has been charged with second-degree murder.

Police believe the victim and the suspect knew each other but did not disclose the nature of the relationship

This is the sixth homicide in Waterloo Region this year including the second in Cambridge in the last week.

A 22-year-old woman was stabbed to death in Hespeler on Sept. 11.

A 41-year-old woman was charged second-degree murder in connection to that incident.
