Seniors hold dance flash mob in North Vancouver

Seniors' flash mob. Aaron McArthur / Global News

Dozens of seniors put on their dancing shoes Friday night in a flash mob to let the community of North Vancouver know they’re active, engaged and willing to get out there — no matter their age.

They took part in a dance flash mob to the song Fever.

The idea was born when Jennifer Abbott, the owner of Hear at Home, decided to bring together the seniors she helps through song and dance.

More than 200 seniors, between the ages of 55 and 95, and team leaders signed up for the event, which was choreographed with the help of Ariyanna Pascuzzi of Seymour Dance Studios.

Rehearsals began in April.

16 organizations from across North Vancouver took part in the event.

Our reporter Aaron McArthur took this video of the flash mob.
