EDMONTON – The Taste of Edmonton festival is open for business in Churchill Square.
For the next ten days from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m., Edmontonians will be able to enjoy tasty offerings from dozens of the city’s restaurants, nine of which are new to the festival.
One change to this year’s festival will be the option for people to buy smaller portions, allowing them to sample more dishes before getting full.
Also new for the 29th installment of the Taste of Edmonton: a new venue called “Sip ‘n Savour,” which will offer themed nights featuring – among others – BBQ specialties, Indian cuisine, seafood, as well as gluten free, vegan and vegetarian meals.
It will culminate with the “10 Mile Dinner,” highlighting an “eat local” focus.
“Sip and Savour is all about supporting local producers and processors,” said Paul Lucas, general manager of Events Edmonton. “Our intention is for the chef and the consumer and the processors to learn where their food comes from and to maybe connect a little bit better with what great produce and what great products Edmonton and Alberta has.”
Those who’d like to pick up some cooking tips from the pros will have the opportunity to do so at culinary workshops held throughout the festival, as well.
You can check out menu items here and purchase your tickets in advance at Tix on the Square.
