They say the fire started near a balcony in the bedroom of a second floor suite, but the cause of the a Vernon apartment fire last month, will be listed as undetermined.
Vernon Deputy fire chief Lawrie Skolrood says due to the instability of the Skyline Manor, they have not been able to pin-point what started it.
Skolrood says without the evidence to prove it, foul play can’t be ruled out, nor can an accidental cause.
The fire forced the evacuation of all 52 residents, who have now found new homes.
Investigators have several theories, but no hard evidence about what caused the apartment fire last month.
Skolrood says an engineer has decided no one will be able to go into the Skyline Manor building again, as it’s not safe.
