Suspect arrested in Carleton Place, Ont., homicide investigation: police

OPP are looking for Carleton Place resident Shane Sabourin, who they believe to be armed and dangerous. OPP

Police have arrested the a man suspected in a Carleton Place homicide.

OPP say Shane Sabourin, 30, from Carleton Place was arrested without incident shortly before 1 p.m. at a residence in the town.

Lanark OPP warned the public early Wednesday morning that a suspect was at large after a reported serious assault in Carleton Place on Highway 7.
OPP later said the victim died as a result of their injuries. Police have yet to release any details about the deceased.

According to police, the reported murder took place at a motel along Highway 7.

Sabourin was at large between 4 a.m. and just before 1 p.m. on Wednesday before he was arrested.
