He is charged with second-degree murder in the April 17, 2012 death of Raymond Taavel outside a bar in Halifax.

A three-day preliminary inquiry for Denny wrapped up Wednesday in provincial court.

His lawyer, Don Murray, agreed at the start of the inquiry there was sufficient evidence to send his 34-year-old client to trial.

The evidence presented at the inquiry is banned from publication.

Taavel’s common-law partner, Darren Lewis, says he was approached by Denny’s parents after Wednesday’s proceedings and offered condolences.
