PotashCorp donates $1,000,000 to local food banks

PotashCorp announced that they are contributing one million dollars to Saskatchewan food banks.

“People cannot build health lives, or stronger communities when they are hungry,” Bill Doyle CEO and President of PotashCorp said in a release. “When we help our neighbours meet their basic food needs, we feed hope, change, and the opportunity to improve their lives.”

One of Saskatchewan’s largest food banks was thankful for the donation.

"We’re going to be able to help more people, we’re going to be able to ensure that our shelves are full of food, and we’re going to be able to fulfill our mission, which is to ensure everybody in our community has enough food and that nobody in our community ever goes hungry," Regina Food Bank CEO Wayne Hellquist said.

The 19 food banks and 9 affiliate locations across the province are going to start restocking their shelves immediately after the donation.
