A Regina man charged in connection with the death of a fellow student in the United States entered a plea of not guilty in a Wisconsin court today.

Twenty three-year-old Jared Britton is facing two charges of aggravated battery following an altercation outside a bar in Wisconsin in September. A charge of felony murder was downgraded.

Britton and one of his University hockey teammates allegedly assaulted Bradley Simon. Simon hit his head and died in hospital days later.

Britton will attend a final pre-trial conference on February 18th.
