Latimer to be released on parole Monday

Robert Latimer, the Saskatchewan farmers who spent time in jail for killing his disabled daughter Tracy in 1993, will be released on full parole Monday.

Wilkie-area farmer Latimer served seven years of a life sentence in prison before he was released on day parole in 2007.

He poisoned his daughter Tracy by piping carbon monoxide into his truck, saying it was an act of compassion.

Latimer’s wife Laura told Global Regina the news is not as exciting as it sounds because he will still have many restrictions.
