Arrests made after Surrey RCMP respond to ‘shots fired’ call in Cloverdale

Twelve people who were “detained” after a report of shots fired in Surrey, B.C., on Monday night have been released, as officers say they found no sign of gunfire.

As many as 20 police cruisers descended on the 19200 block of 80 Avenue in the Cloverdale neighbourhood after the report came in shortly after 6 p.m. Monday.

Arriving officers found several people and vehicles outside a residence.

It had not been immediately clear how many people had been arrested.

Police remained at the scene to investigate further.
