Vehicles parked in bus lanes will be towed in Regina

Parking in a bus lane during peak hours will mean your vehicle gets towed.

Starting October 4, the City is increasing enforcement on a law that people in Regina continue to ignore. Vehicles parked in the marked bus lanes in downtown between 7 and 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. will be towed.

Besides the fact it is the law, the move is designed to protect everyone.

“Even people travelling by car will benefit from having traffic lanes open up so that cars can move faster through the downtown,” City of Regina Director of Traffic David Onodera said. “It’s not revenue for transit, so it’s certainly not for us. We’d be quite happy if people would simply not park or stop in the places where they’re not supposed to be.”

Towed vehicle will be taken to the city impound lot.
