Edmonton – A fire that claimed the lives of two people including one child has been ruled an accident by Edmonton Fire Rescue.

The June 15th blaze at the Oak Tower at 116 Street and 102 Avenue started in a bedroom of an 8th floor suite, but the exact cause remains under investigation.

Investigators say the extensive damage in the room where the fire started has made it a challenge to find a cause. Forensic examination of evidence that has been collected is being conducted.
