B.C. premier takes questions during weekly media availability

B.C. premier John Horgan took questions from the media after the government’s weekly cabinet meeting at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Among the topics covered included ICBC cancellation fees, rent supplement and emergency benefit for workers, virtual education and when things might start getting back to ‘normal’.

British Columbia has reported the largest single-day jump in new COVID-19 cases since March 28.

Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry confirmed 71 new cases of the virus, bringing the provincial total to 1,795.

Three more people have died of COVID-19, bringing B.C.’s death toll to 90.

All three deaths were linked to long-term care homes.
