After years of planning, the Rockyview hospital is unveiling its brand new emergency department today.
The new $26-million facility is larger, offering more privacy for patients and better working conditions for staff.
The new department will also include three state-of-the art resuscitation rooms with overhead x-ray capabilities, a cardiac monitor, thermometer, blood pressure cuff and oxygen saturation monitor.
Six new ambulance bays and a new helipad have also been added.
The Rockyview ER sees about 70,000 patients per year and the numbers continue to rise.
The hospital will accept its first patient at 6:00a.m. tomorrow morning.
