The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance in identifying six people believed to be responsible for at least six bank robberies across the city.
The offences were committed between Saturday, February 7, 2009, and Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009.
Although it is not believed that the individuals are working together, there are some similarities in the methods used.
These range from handing over demanding notes, threatening behaviour, indicating weapons and showing a handgun.
Police are concerned that if these suspects are not located, they could commit further offences and the level of threats and violence could escalate, potentially endangering bank staff and members of the public.
The first suspect is described as a Caucasian man, 25 to 35 -years-old, 6’ tall and 170 to 190 lbs. He is believed to be responsible for the robbery of the TD Canada Trust in the 3000 block of 17 Avenue S.E., on Saturday, February 7, 2009.
The second suspect is described as a Caucasian man, approximately 25 to 30-years-old, 5’9″ to 5’11″ tall, 175 to 200 lbs., with a wide face and a full dark beard that may have been fake. He is believed to be responsible for the robbery of the First Calgary Savings and Credit Union in the 2500 block of Southland Drive S.W., on Thursday, June 11, 2009.
The third suspect is described as a Caucasian man, 30 to 35 -years-old, 5’6″ tall, 155 lbs., with a goatee. He is believed to be responsible for the robbery of the TD Canada Trust in the 200 block of Saddletowne Circle N.E., on Saturday, June 13, 2009.
The fourth suspect is described as a Caucasian man, 20 to 25 -years-old, 5’10″ tall, 160 lbs., with a slim build. He is believed to be responsible for the robbery of the TD Canada Trust in the 1600 block of 14 Avenue N.W., on Friday, June 29, 2009.
The fifth suspect is described as a Caucasian man, 48 to 58 -years-old, 5’ 11″ tall, 210 lbs., with pale skin and short blond hair with some gray. He has an oval shaped face with pock marks and a puffy red nose. He is believed to be responsible for the robbery of the TD Canada Trust in the 500 block of 58 Avenue S.E., on Friday, Aug. 7, 2009.
The sixth suspect is described as a Caucasian man, 20 to 25 -years-old, approximately 6’ tall, 180 to 200 lbs., with a slim build and short hair. He is believed to be responsible for the of robbery of the TD Canada Trust in the 700 block of Lake Bonavista Drive S.E. on Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009.
Suspect four is also believed to be responsible for a robbery committed at a TD Canada Trust on Brentwood Road N.W., in May 2008.
