UPDATE: Highway 97 south of Okanagan Falls has been reopened to traffic following an earlier fatal vehicle incident.
According to B.C. Traffic Services, a single vehicle left the highway at approximately 9:40 a.m., two kilometres south of Okanagan Falls.
“Upon arrival, it had been determined that a northbound vehicle left the highway and rolled, unfortunately killing the lone occupant, who was an elderly male from the South Okanagan area,” said Cpl. Mike Halskov.
Police added that traffic was impacted for a time before it was reopened.
Also, police said road conditions were reported as being good, and that impairment or criminality are not being considered as being contributing factors to the crash.
Police are asking that anyone who witnessed the crash to contact South Okanagan Traffic Services in Keremeos at 250-499-2250.
