Investigators believe the suspects were involved in four incidents with the first involving an attempted vehicle robbery in the parking lot of Dundurn Plaza on Friday night.

Police say that alleged attempted robbery happened around 8:00 p.m. when a man tried to steal a Dodge Ram pickup truck in a parking lot near the intersection of Dundurn Street South and Main Street West.

A woman was sitting in the passenger side of that vehicle when the suspect was reportedly chased off by the woman’s husband, who police say was exiting a store at the time of the alleged attempted robbery.

About a half-hour later, the same suspect allegedly was successful in driving off with a sub-compact car when he approached a female driver after parking her car.

After starting a conversation, the man allegedly demanded the keys and drove off with the silver 2006 Toyota Matrix – Ontario licence plate 107YEX, according to police.

In both instances, police say the complainants gave similar descriptions of a man who was around five feet 10 inches tall, had a slim build and was wearing a dark-coloured hoodie and dark-coloured pants.

Investigators say the suspect may have been carrying a handgun.

On Saturday night, detectives believe the Matrix was used as a getaway vehicle during an alleged theft from a Shoppers Drug Mart on around 7:00 p.m.

In that incident, police say a man – with a black baseball cap, blue bandana, grey tweed coat, red gloves and tattoo on the left side of his neck – allegedly stole items from the cosmetics desk at the Shoppers Drug Mart on Cannon Street East at Wellington.
