Attempted murder charge laid in Saskatoon shooting

A man has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting in Saskatoon.

Saskatoon police said officers were called to the 900 block of 8th Street East at 4:15 a.m. Sunday for a report a man had been shot.

A 29-year-old man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said. There is no update on his condition.

Police said a 30-year-old man was arrested and is facing charges of attempted murder and use of a firearm while committing an indictable offence.

He is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon provincial court on Monday morning.

Police have not released any other details at this time.

Traffic restrictions were in place for almost 11 hours while police carried out their investigations.
