The death of a UBC student in Los Angeles earlier this year has been ruled accidental according to the LA coroner.
The body of 21-year old Elisa Lam was found in a hot water tank on top of The Cecil Hotel in February.

The LA County coroner confirms Lam’s death was an accident due to drowning and other significant conditions including bipolar disorder.
Lam was last seen on January 31 at the hotel in the city’s skid row area. Police later released surveillance video showing her acting strangely in the hotel elevator.
Her body was discovered almost three weeks after she went missing.
