The movement itself started in Toronto in 2002 as a way to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympians. Nine cities across Canada now take part.

In Kelowna 150 athletes along with 18 Okanagan Special Olympians played tirelessly.

“For our athletes it’s extremely special to be welcomed and to come into an event like this and be treated as a peer it’s huge” says Leslie Thornley with Special Olympics BC

This is the second year motionball has raised money for the cause. Organizers are happy to report, they’ve raised $40-thousand dollars for the Special Olympics.
