WATCH: Global News Winnipeg wins Edward R. Murrow award

Earlier this year it was announced that we are the recipients of this year’s prestigious Edward R. Murrow award for best online coverage.

Headlines were first made here in Winnipeg on October 1, 2012, about half-an-hour before our evening news went to air, Speedway International in St. Boniface went up in flames, sending a fireball into the sky and people running for their lives, an image which soon made international headlines.

On Saturday, Brent Williamson, the news director for Global Winnipeg, accepted the award.
