Victim of deadly Saddle Ridge shooting identified by Calgary police

Calgary police have released the identity of a man shot to death in the community of Saddle Ridge over the weekend.

On Saturday, Jan. 4, officers responded to the 200 block of Saddlecrest Boulevard N.E. at about 7:30 p.m.

The victim, identified on Wednesday as 38-year-old Gurinder Pal Singh Sekhon, was found dead at the scene.

Another victim was taken to hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition, according to police.

Police said they are reviewing tips and CCTV video.

Suspicious vehicle found

On Wednesday, the CPS Homicide Unit said it found a suspicious vehicle believed to be connected to the homicide and reported stolen before the shooting.

Police want tips from the public about where the vehicle — a black 2018 Nissan Rogue — was on Saturday night.

Anyone who saw the vehicle near the 200 block of Saddlecrest Boulevard N.E. at the time of the shooting or people in the SUV filling a gas can at a gas station are asked to call police at 403-266-1234 or to contact Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477 or online.
