SAINT JOHN, NB – There will be no charges laid following an accident in June that claimed the life of a prominent Saint John lawyer.
46-year old Caroline Higgins was jogging near the Reversing Falls when an out of control motorcycle skidded across two lanes of traffic and struck her.
Higgins suffered severe head injuries and later died in hospital.
The 53-year old driver of the motorcycle had just received his license.
The Crown says that no charges will be laid because there was no intention of dangerous driving or criminal negligence.
Driver inexperience and mechanical problems with the bike were likely the cause of the accident.
