A walk in a south Edmonton park took a terrifying turn for a deaf woman and her small dog on Saturday night.
Stephanie Huising was walking with her dog Sam when she says she was attacked by a group of people. It happened in the Mill Creek Ravine near 72nd Street and 91st Avenue at around 10:30pm.
Huising says a group of about four people pushed her down. The 27-year-old says one person knelt on her back, while the others kicked her and tried to grab her dog. She was eventually able to escape, and ran home with her dog.
The Pomeranian Poodle cross was left with two fractures to his upper jaw, leaving Huising to deal not only with her own bruises, but a $600.00 vet bill as well.
Police are still searching for suspects in the case.
