Loose buffalo near Camrose

RCMP in Camrose are advising residents that there are approximately 30-40 head of Buffalo on the loose in the region.

The animals have been spotted in groups Northeast and Northwest of Camrose. They were seen crossing the highways in the area on Monday night.

According to RCMP, the buffalo escaped from a farm five kilometres northeast of Camrose. They were originally headed north, but made their way back to the city over night.

The RCMP is advising the public to keep their distance from the animals.

Residents who come across the animals are asked to call 911 or Camrose RCMP to keep the authorities informed of their whereabouts.
