TORONTO –Mayor Rob Ford turfed the only woman on his executive committee in a shakeup at city hall Monday.

Coun. Jaye Robinson, the only woman to sit on the mayor’s 12-person executive committee, is also being replaced on the Community Development and Recreation Committee by Councillor Anthony Perruzza.

Robinson has scheduled a press conference for Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. at city hall.

And Coun. Paul Ainslie has been moved off the Government Management Committee: He is being replaced by Coun. Norm Kelly.

Ainslie’s office did not respond to interview requests but did issue a press release Monday evening detailing achievements the committee has made while he was chair.

Ainslie said in the statement he enjoyed working with councillors “to make our municipal government as open and transparent as possible.”

In a statement from the mayor’s office, Ford said the changes will help his administration continue to deliver “results for the taxpayers of Toronto.”

While the mayor thanked both councillors in the press release, both have recently been at odds with the mayor.

Ainslie told the Toronto Star that he told the mayor’s then-chief-of-staff Mark Towhey that it would “be a good idea for the mayor to leave” a military ball in February, where Ford was allegedly acting inebriated and asked to leave.

And Robinson recently suggested the mayor take a leave of absence if he was unwilling to directly address reports of an alleged video showing someone matching his appearance smoking what could be crack cocaine.

The mayor has called the allegations “ridiculous” and his brother, Coun. Doug Ford, said they were “untrue.”

Global News has not seen the video and cannot verify its authenticity.
