The Canadian Hurricane Centre (CHC) has issued an advisory for Tropical Storm Andrea.
As of 3 p.m. on Thursday, the storm was about 175 kilometres northeast of Tampa, Florida, with sustained winds of 90 km/h. The storm is moving northeast at a speed of 20 km/h.
The CHC has started releasing regular updates on the storm as it tracks toward Canada.

The advisory states that the storm will become post-tropical by the end of Friday and bring rain to the Maritimes beginning late that evening over Nova Scotia. There is uncertainty as to the direction of the centre of the storm: it could either track just south of Nova Scotia or as far north as central New Brunswick. The storm is expected to affect Newfoundland on Sunday.
Though the CHC isn’t calling for much wind or surge waves with the arrival of Andrea, it is expecting heavy downpours. The CHC is also calling for gale-force winds in maritime waters.
