Five years after Constables Peter Schiemann, Leo Johnston, Anthony Gordon and Brock Myrol were killed on a rural property near the town of Mayerthorpe, a ceremony is being held to remember the four young officers.
The Mayerthorpe Fallen Four Memorial Society will hold a luminary candle lighting ceremony at 7:30pm on Wednesday at the Fallen Four Memorial Park in Mayerthorpe. The society is inviting anyone who wants to attend to come and honour the four young men, and all other officers who have been killed in the line of duty.
The RCMP will also be hosting the annual RCMP Fallen Four Memorial Hockey game and Silent Auction Fundraiser at 7:00pm on March 19th at the Twin Arenas in Whitecourt Alberta. Proceeds from the event will be used to maintain the Fallen Four Memorial Park.
