Armstrong man identified as victim of fatal crash

ARMSTRONG, BC — The coroner has released the name of a north Okanagan man who died last week when his van left the highway and plummeted down an embankment.

The van was discovered Thursday morning by a member of a construction crew working nearby.

The vehicle was at the bottom of a 10 meter embankment off highway 97-A at Eagle Point road near Armstrong.

The driver was the only person inside and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as 59 year old David Victor Genschorek of Armstrong.

Police say there were no witnesses, making their investigation into the cause of the crash difficult.
