3 seriously injured, 1 person in custody following stabbing in Brampton

Peel Regional Police say three people are injured, and a woman is in custody following a midday stabbing in Brampton.

Officers responded just before 11 a.m. to the area of Main and Queen streets.

Police said the three victims were found with stab wounds in an apartment building above a business on Main Street.

Investigators said initially that a woman was rushed to a trauma centre in life-threatening condition, while a man was transported to a trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries and a second man was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

According to Const. Akhil Mooken, the woman has since been upgraded to non-life-threatening condition.

He also said a 34-year-old woman is in police custody in relation to the incident, which police believe was targeted.

There’s currently no information on the relationship between the victims and suspect, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
