A spokesperson for the Ministry of the Solicitor General says that an inmate died on Tuesday night but due to privacy issues they could not provide a cause of death.

“The ministry can confirm that an inmate from the Maplehurst Correctional Complex passed away at hospital (Tuesday) night,” Brent Ross said in a statement. “The inmate was found in medical distress early Saturday morning. Staff responded with first aid and calling for an ambulance. Paramedics attended the facility and rushed the inmate to hospital.”
