Toronto police say a teen was stabbed near a high school in the city’s east end Thursday.
Police said they were called to Neil McNeil High School in the area of Victoria Park and Bracken avenues shortly after 1 p.m.
A police spokesperson told Global News the victim, who is a male and believed to be a student, was found inside the school, though it’s unclear exactly where the stabbing occurred.
A plaza parking lot not far from the school was cordoned off by police.
The victim’s injuries were reported to be serious but non-life-threatening.
The school was placed in lockdown following the incident.
The stabbing came approximately an hour and a half after another teen was stabbed in the city’s east end.
Just before 11:30 a.m., police said officers were called to the area of Pape and Strathcona avenues and discovered a teen boy who had been stabbed.
He was rushed to a trauma centre in serious condition.
