What’s it like inside a tornado? Sean Casey knows.
World renowned tornado chaser Sean Casey and Brandon Ivey captured the footage of what it’s like inside an EF3 tornado with his specially built Tornado Intercept Vehicle 2. The tornado occurred northeast of Smith Center, Kansas.
Sean Casey’s TIV vehicles (there are two) are tank-like vehicles designed to withstand the force of tornadoes.

The modified 1997 Ford F-450 weighs 15,000 pounds and has a top speed of 129 km/h. It is also equipped with four hydraulic claws that clamp to the ground during a tornado intercept.
